Be mindful of what you post and how you react on this platform.
LinkedIn is a social network, it is. However, it is also a platform many people use to recruit talent or to find career opportunities.
I share the occasional post on LinkedIn, but it's always related to career growth, content creation, or a cause that impacts women or minorities in the workplace.
I make sure I keep my writing professional, check my spelling and grammar, and fact-check the information I'm sharing.
I'm shocked at the things some people share on LinkedIn. For one, I see far too many grammar mistakes.
Secondly, are you trying to network or are you trying to end your career? LinkedIn is not the place to get into heavy political debates. It is certainly not the place to use racial slurs or misogynist language.
I hardly ever comment on an article or a post. When I do, it is because I'm compelled by the story shared or because I have something to add to the conversation. If someone replies, especially if they try to spark a negative response, I maintain my composure and respond with respect.
Others have the right to have a different perspective from mine, that's not an issue. However, I'm not going to use LinkedIn (or any platform) to argue or vent or…
