As A Woman…

As a woman, I don’t want to exist in the dark.

I don’t want to apologize for who I am.

What should I be ashamed of?

I don’t want to hide my intelligence

I don’t want to make myself small anymore

I don’t want to stay silent

Why should I?

Am I not human?

I breathe. I am alive.

As a woman… I’m tired of the abuse

I’m no longer afraid

Am I not allowed to be brave?
